with Senior Scrip!

The Senior Scrip program provides alternative, reliable and affordable transportation to Fresno County residents who are 70 years of age and older with transportation by participating taxi companies in Fresno County and through GoGoGrandparent for Lyft-Uber.  Eligible seniors receive a 75% discount on ride fares by purchasing up to $200 worth of senior scrip per month, in their choice of paper scrip for use with taxi rides, or in electronic credit for use with Lyft/Uber rides.

Senior Scrip can be used as needed at any time, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Each month, seniors will have a choice to purchase one of the following forms of scrip:

Paper scrip that can be used to pay for rides with taxi cabs/taxi service providers

Electronic scrip credit to pay for Lyft-Uber rides.

Eligible seniors can purchase in increments of $5 which buys them $20 worth of scrip (up to a maximum of $200 of scrip value per month at a total cost of $50).  That is a 75% discount!

Fresno COG and a company called GoGoGrandparent have formed a partnership to help our Senior Scrip Program participants schedule rides with Lyft and Uber drivers by calling only one telephone number from a home telephone or cell phone. No need to own or use a smartphone, GoGoGrandparent will schedule the ride for you!

Rules and Eligibility:

• Resident of Fresno County
• At least 70 years old
• You must first complete and submit the eligibility forms along with proof of age and residency. (Proof of eligibility is required by providing a copy of a California Driver’s License, California DMV-issued Identification Card or other combination of documents that prove both age and residency.
• All necessary documents can be obtained at select locations only or on the web at www.fresnocog.org.
• Scrip cannot be given or sold to someone else. It is non-transferable, non-negotiable, and non-replaceable.
• Scrip can only be used to pay for your taxi and TNC services and to tip the taxi driver (but not the TNC driver). You may also tip using cash.
• Program participants are responsible for scheduling, changing, and canceling trip reservations. When calling for a taxi be sure to let the dispatcher know that you will be paying with Senior Scrip.
• Fresno COG reserves the right to limit scrip sales based on scrip availability.
