Non-emergency medical transportation services help people who face barriers in accessing medical care, such as cost, disability, or lack of transportation, to get to and from their non-emergency medical appointments. The service is not an ambulance, taxi, or public transportation service. Most providers help with loading and unloading specialized equipment such as wheelchairs, walkers, gurneys and stretchers, and have medically trained personnel on board. Medicaid recipients who qualify for the service may receive reimbursement for their travel costs.

Call potential providers and ask detailed questions about their services and rates before making reservations.
